Dr Basit Shafiq (CO-PI)

Department of Computer Science, Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
Dr. Basit Shafiq received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, USA. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). Prior to joining LUMS, he was a Research Assistant Professor at the Centre for Information Management, Integration and Connectivity (CIMIC), Rutgers University, USA. Dr. Shafiq’s research interests include information distributed systems, Web service composition and verification, cloud computing, and information security and privacy.
He has published over 60 papers in refereed journals and conferences in these areas. He is an Editorial Board member of Computers & Security (Elsevier Journal) and technical program committee member of several international conferences. Dr. Shafiq’s research has been sponsored by the Higher Education Commission, Ignite – National Technology Fund (formerly National ICT R&D Fund), National Science Foundation, and SAP Research Labs.
