Workshop on
FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT Foundational aspects of inference from survey data have received considerable attention in recent years and attempts have been made to bring sample survey inference more into the main stream of statistical inference. Sample survey is universally recognized as a vital method of data collection to derive reliable statistics on a variety of topics concerning our society. Efficient sampling strategies have been developed in the last 40 years or so to meet the growing demand for reliable statistics starting with the pioneering works of Neyman, Mahalanobis, Yates, Hansen and Hurwity, Horvitz and Thompson, Royall, Brewer, Basu etc. The aim of this workshop is to introduce these concept along with recent developments. Registration fee is Rs. 300 per participant. Deadline for registration is 18th August, 2006.
