  Workshop on
Probabilistic Method in
Combinatorics and Geometry
(March 1-2, 2008)

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

The probabilistic method, developed by the great mathematician, Paul Erdos, is an extremely powerful tool in combinatorics, graph theory and combinatorial geometry. It is fast becoming an indispensible tool having wide range applications. This workshop will consist of a series of eight lectures. The introductory lectures will outline the basic method. This will be followed by more advanced lectures that will show how this method can be applied to problems in combinatorics, graph theory and combinatorial geometry.

The intended audience should have taken at least one course in probability theory and discrete mathematics. All interested are invited to register.

 

Registration Fee:
Rs. 300 per participant, Participation is only by registration. Number of participants is bounded above by 50.
